The stream PC is used to stream to Utter's internet radio service called "radio.co". It does this using a peice of software called "Butt".
The edit PC is used for recording and getting audio onto the cartwall via a peice of software called "Highlander". Follow the linked guides on setting up a recording or using pre-recorded material in your shows. You can get audio on and off the computer via the internet (services such as OneDrive or Google Drive) or via USB stick.
This is the computer that controls OnAir Control via the small keypad on the studio desk. OnAir is outside of the scope of these guides, but is taught in L5 Radio Studio. This computer is also displays in the live room, and both rooms have control over the cursor. It is ususally used to bring up scripts or notes for the presenters to refer to.
This computer is usually used to set up skype or ipDTL calls to get contributors on air live. ipDTL is outside of the scope of this walthrough and is covered in L5 Radio Studio.
The cartwall is used to playout audio live such as idents, jingles, beds etc. Audio can be loaded onto it with Highlander. Read more about how it is opperated here.
There is only one keyboard and mouse in the radio studios, but 4 computers. The computer that the keybord and mouse control is controled by the "KVM". Each of the PCs has a different desktop color which corresponds to a button on the front of the KVM, if you press one of these, the control will switch to that computer.
To make things easier for the studio manager, theres another peice of software called "Synergy" on the green (edit) PC. This allows the studio manager to simply "tap" the mouse on the side of the display, automatically switching between them. This will only work if the green (edit) PC is selected on the KVM.
